Carol Ann is a Delaware native, spending family vacations in Rehoboth and Bethany Beach since 1970. Following a short stint at Georgetown University Hospital, she joined the family business, Pala Bros. of Wilmington, working with builders and private clients as an interior designer. She met and married her husband, Peter McLean, and both headed to the University of Tennessee, where Carol Ann worked at Oak Ridge National Lab and assisted Peter in black bear trapping and research while she pursued her Masters. Upon graduation, they returned to Delaware, to St. Andrew’s School in Middletown, DE where Peter taught biology and environmental science for 30 years, and Carol Ann served as the Library and Archive Director for 16 years.
As a Sussex County resident, Carol Ann believes in sustainable development and works to preserve Delaware's remarkable coastal community. From interior design to black bears to missile development, Carol Ann has had a far-ranging career, but, through it all, there has been one common thread; outstanding service and a penchant for delivering pertinent and timely information to her clients. Carol Ann practices Svaroopa yoga and meditation daily; her mantra of "Happy clients ... happy heart" has endured in every aspect of her life.
