While working her dream job as a staff member of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Small Business, Molly Decker listened hard during hearings as small mortgage and real estate brokers testified about market trends. The real estate fire was lit.
Molly’s real estate career began in DC, working for TTR Sotheby’s International Realty. She quickly became known for her ability to gauge client needs and envision a place that suited their unique lifestyle. Whether a first-time homebuyer or a Congressman from California, Molly ensured a smooth and seamless negotiation/contract process, a key performance measurement for Molly. Driving through a neighborhood to check out dog walkers? Yes, she’s done that. The ability to work with people throughout the seasons of their lives is a special, gifted opportunity, one she finds extremely satisfying. Contributing to Molly’s real estate ventures have been her husband, Mark, and her son, Mark Jr.. Mark was President of Nareit (Natl Assn of REITs), recently retiring as a Vice-Chair with the Bank of Montreal. Mark Jr. runs a public company (multi-family housing REIT) in Minneapolis. Real estate is in the Decker DNA.
Vacations at Bethany Beach became the favorite vacation spot, so much that Molly and Mark purchased a home there in 2005. Years later, in 2020, it was time to downsize. Bethany turned out to be the perfect place -- lots of golf, great tennis, excellent restaurants, and the beach – yet still be close enough to attend Grandparent’s Day without getting on an airplane. Molly likes to say “love” took her to Washington, DC … and love has now brought her to the beach!
Community involvement and giving back is important to Molly and Mark. They received the Margaret Hodges Award for their work with The Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University. Molly was especially honored to be the recipient of The TTR Sotheby’s International Realty’s Community Leadership Award.
