Brenda Greenan, better known as Bennie, is a proud native of West Virginia—born and raised. After attending West Virginia Wesleyan College and receiving a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Bennie went on to earn her master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. Upon completion, Bennie moved to Maryland to assume a counseling position with the State of Maryland’s Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. In this role, she worked directly with clients suffering disabilities and needing retraining and medical treatment before seeking alternative occupations. Bennie was also responsible for coordinating the student internship program within her agency. Clearly, working with people and helping them realize their goals has always been of great interest to Bennie.
After rehabbing clients for 10 years, Bennie switched to rehabbing houses. Having a great interest in design, she bought and renovated homes in the Montgomery County, MD area for 15 years. One of her most memorable renovation and entrepreneurial projects was an ice cream parlor in Takoma Park, MD, known as Lickety Split. Bennie designed and operated this business, but is happy to no longer be dipping ice cream.
Bennie now combines her renovation skills, people skills, and love of family as both a buyer and seller's agent for Ocean Atlantic Sotheby's International Realty, working toward finding the right "fit" for her customers. Although the Rehoboth area has experienced quite an expansion, she feels that it still has that small-town flavor that relates back to her West Virginia roots.
