Liz Barnhart hails from Potomac, MD and began spending her summers at the Delaware beaches in 1975. She worked at a local ice cream parlor, as well as lifeguarded throughout high school and college breaks. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 1997 with a psychology degree, after which she received her certification to teach high school Spanish from the University of North Carolina followed by a Masters in Guidance Counseling from Wilmington University. Liz worked as both a Spanish teacher and guidance counselor at Sussex Technical High School. Subsequently, Liz worked part-time teaching Spanish at Del-Tech Community College while raising two young daughters. She stayed active as a board member of Rehoboth Children’s Summer Theater, Worcester Preparatory School, and Epworth Preschool volunteer.
