United Way Visits Ocean Atlantic Agency

Representatives of the United Way of Delaware (UWD) met with agents and employees at Ocean Atlantic Agency, located at 330 Rehoboth Avenue on Thursday, December 14th. Ocean Atlantic REALTOR®, Sandra Ware, whom is on the Board of Directors of UWD, hosted the event in hopes to educate her coworkers and peers of United Way’s involvement in the local Sussex Country community. Lyndon Yearick and Noelia Arroyo-Loomis explained the importance of United Way and the organization’s direct impact on the community to all in attendance.

United Way has a mission to improve the livelihoods of individuals ultimately providing them with the highest quality of life. They partner with well over 30 charitable organizations in Sussex County that reach out to a large demographic of individuals including single mothers, seniors with disabilities, children and families in need. Their partners include American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula, Sussex County Senior Services, Inc. (the Cheer Centers), Boys and Girls Club, Kent-Sussex Industries and Meals on Wheels to name of few. “There are so many worthy charities in Sussex County,” stated Yearick. “It’s such a small area and people can only give so much. What people don’t understand is that United Way is partnered with many of those charities and funds are distributed where and when they are needed most. By contributing to United Way, individuals are donating to more worthy causes than they could ever imagine.”

Ocean Atlantic was pleased to accommodate the United Way and all in attendance walked away with a plethora of knowledge about the organization. If anyone is interested in learning more about the United Way or would like to educate your workplace on the benefits of donating to such a worthy organization, please contact Lyndon Yearick at 302-734-4773 or visit www.uwde.org.
